Supporting Patients and Families
Practice Summary
Nancy Boutin provides patient-centered psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and young adults. Her practice emphasizes thoughtful evaluation, evidence-based treatment, and collaborative care planning tailored to each individual’s developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs. Services are delivered in a supportive environment, with options for both in-person and telehealth visits to improve accessibility and continuity of care. The approach prioritizes individualized treatment, communication, and support for patients and families.
Conditions or Disorders
The practice addresses a wide range of mental and behavioral health concerns, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, adjustment disorders, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, and mood-related challenges. Care is also provided for individuals with autism spectrum-related concerns and co-occurring emotional or behavioral difficulties across developmental stages. Each evaluation considers psychological, social, academic, and family factors to support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology
Care integrates psychopharmacology with supportive psychotherapy to address both symptoms and underlying contributing factors. Treatment may include medication management alongside therapeutic interventions focused on coping skills, emotional regulation, and behavioral strategies. Lifestyle considerations such as sleep, nutrition, physical activity, and stress management are incorporated as appropriate, supporting a comprehensive and balanced approach to mental health care.
Medication Management
Medication management is approached conservatively and thoughtfully, with a strong emphasis on safety, education, and ongoing monitoring. When medications are indicated, treatment decisions are individualized and reviewed regularly to assess effectiveness, side effects, and overall functioning. The goal is to use the lowest effective dose while integrating non-pharmacological strategies whenever possible to support long-term mental health and stability.
Appointments
Appointments are available for new evaluations and follow-up visits, with both in-person and telehealth options offered for flexibility. Initial visits focus on thorough assessment and collaborative goal setting, while follow-ups monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed. Families can expect clear communication, timely scheduling, and a structured approach designed to support continuity of care and positive clinical outcomes.
Insurances Accepted
The practice accepts many major insurance plans and works to make mental health services accessible to families. Coverage and benefits can vary by plan, so patients are encouraged to verify eligibility and cost-sharing details prior to scheduling. Administrative support is available to help answer insurance-related questions and ensure transparency around fees, coverage, and payment expectations before treatment begins.

The Benefits of Psychotherapy for Teens and Young Adults
Seeing a psychotherapist can significantly improve outcomes for teens and young adults by providing a structured, supportive space to explore emotions, behaviors, and life stressors during critical developmental stages. Psychotherapy helps individuals build effective coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen problem-solving abilities, while addressing underlying contributors to anxiety, depression, and behavioral concerns. Early therapeutic intervention also supports healthy identity development, emotional resilience, and long-term mental wellbeing, reducing the risk of more severe challenges later in life.
